Story
Hi there!
I'm participating in this year's Tough Mudder UK and fundraising for the Jon Shaw Foundation. Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice. Thanks so much for your support!

Jon Shaw Foundation
Jon died suddenly and unexpectedly in epilepsy (SUDEP) in June 2019, aged 19. Jon Shaw Foundation was registered in his memory to;
Support young people living with epilepsy by providing monitors alarms and anti suffocation pillows to help keep them safe during seizures.
This equipment alerts carers that help is needed and they can quickly attend and offer reassurance as well as medical and emergency aid.
Potentially saving many lives.
Improve the mental health and well-being of bereaved young people who are struggling after the death of a sibling or close friend. Too often
these young people feel responsible for the wellbeing of parents or younger siblings, they can feel isolated and confused because they dont
want to upset their loved ones. We can offer funding for face to face bereavement counselling without the wait, giving these young people the
opportunity to offload and process their feelings.
Promote awareness of epilepsy and SUDEP, many people think of jerking and shaking on the floor when they think of epilepsy, but it is much
more than that, very few people know about SUDEP despite 600 deaths in the UK evdery year. Awareness is important if families are to manage
risk of harm well. We talk to organisations, schools and medical establishments to promote awareness of different types of epilepsy and its risks.
